Based on 43 years of contribution, the French would spend around 70,000 hours at work in their lifetime. Enough for commit some unrecognized and unspeakable acts. Today Léonie (1) from Southwest, 31 years old.
“At the end of my master’s degree, I had a summer job at Air France. For three months they take young people to be PCBs, extra staff on board. We train for two weeks to learn the basics of being a flight attendant. To get a job, you almost have to pass a competitive exam: there are English, Spanish, logic tests… And even a normal day Koh Lanta. People were eliminated before the finals.
“I had a great desire to travel. Libreville, Bamako, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Hanoi… I’ve been to places I would never have gone. At each stop, Air France advised us to rest in a hotel and get a good night’s sleep. That’s what senior flight attendants do: they mean it. I really wanted to enjoy it. During a twenty-four hour layover in Beijing, I went to see the Great Wall of China. It was nonsense: it takes three hours to get from the airport by bus, three hours to return. In the center of Beijing, I wanted to visit small markets, have dinner…
