Ségurant, the knight with the dragon, forgotten in the Arthurian legends, reappears thanks to Emanuele Ariola. The permanent exhibition reveals the fruits of ten years of research at Château de Comper in Brittany.

It is the story of a sword, a squire and a brave knight, until now lost under the dust of time. In the mysterious castle of Comper, located in the Breton forest, a permanent fixture, at the center of the Arthurian imagination, gives way to a forgotten legend : Ségurant, knight with a dragon.
Ségurant did not steal this nickname. One day, while fighting the Knights of the Round Table during a tournament in Winchester, the fairy Morgana casts a spell on him. She summons a huge dragon, and the hero then becomes mortally obsessed with the monster, forgetting everything else. Ironically, the knight with amnesia is forgotten. Only Emanuele Arioli, a passionate researcher of medieval literature, brought it back to the light of day.

In 2010, this scientist, a lover of medieval literature, came across a manuscript that mentions a dragon knight lost in the twists and turns of the Arthurian legend. The young archivist watched those parchments for ten years to find his trace.
On these pages yellowed by time, it is difficult for him to rewrite the story in old French, but challenged by the texts, he perseveres and leads a search across Europe.
A big discovery
He thinks he has found one of the countless supporting characters that populate the Arthurian legend, but the knight Ségurant, far from being an extra, turns out to be in the middle Age one of the main characters of the myth, equal to Tristan, Lancelot or Gawain. The dragon knight, once the bravest of them all, finally sees his memory return after a long eclipse.
Now the manuscript, novel and illustrated albums have seen the light of day through the adventures of different eras and countries. This research also led to a documentary about the story of the inventor himself.

“It was an extraordinary revelation for me to find the adventures of a new knight of the Round Table, this manuscript turned my life upside down,” says Emanuele Arioli.
The permanent lineup is set until the end of the season 2026. But until then, several events will be organized, such as the meeting with Emanuele Arioli, on the 11th and 12th. next May, followed by a musical story this summer at the Arthurian Center in Concoret, Morbihan. Something that will delight visitors.
