300 m2 of art, from floor to ceiling, entirely dedicated to culture, for several months. Because this atypical house, which dates back to the end of the 19th century, is doomed to be destroyed at the end of the year. The building will come in its place. Meanwhile, the collective of artists and designers of Salade supreme did not hesitate for long. He decided to invest it in a temporary third place open to all. For this, its members gathered established or new artists: “Whether it’s installations, sculptures, paintings, there are even caricaturists, tattoo artists… truly different worlds are created and told to visitors in each room,” explains Quentin Lhommeau, coordinator and designer within the collective.

Forty-two artists are participating

In total, as many as 42 artists responded to Salade Supreme’s call for projects that will bring this unique cabinet of curiosities to life. A great adventure made possible thanks to the Sozinho association. The latter identifies places doomed to disappear and negotiates with developers to invest in them, give them a new life, before they are destroyed: “Vwe have this house that has a real history: there was a little lady who lived there for years. There is a soul here, all life is created in this house. And it’s very interesting to be able to offer artistic creations related to this life,” explains Elsa Fort, co-director of the association.

And that does not leave the visitors without emotions. Among them is Annie. She was a neighbor of the former owner of the building, Pierrette, who died last year. All this work is a nice tribute to her: “It’s hard for me to see the neighborhood without her. So to see it come to life thanks to her is beautiful. Now everyone stops in the street. Amazing! And what seems quite paradoxical to me is that she loved discretion and here she is the center of attention !”. Human and artistic story. A passing spell you can tell for free… on Friday and Saturday afternoons, until July 20.
