Paul Lapeira achieved three victories in a short time. The new French hope in cycling is a guest of franceinfo, Friday April 19.
Paul Lapeira is the discovery of French cycling. He won three victories: one at the Classic Loire-Atlantique, another at the Cholet Agglo-Tour and finally a stage in the Basque Country. “All the lights are green, everything is going well for the team and for me, individually”, assures Franceinfo Paul Lapeira, a cyclist within the Decathlon AG2R – La Mondiale team. For him, the trigger was “physical”but also “mental”. “There really is a mental block that has been removed”explains.
Pressure that does not “frighten” him.
“I’m a winner at heart, so when I got opportunities, I took them and I’m happy about that”, assures the cyclist. So far, his victories could have been surprises. “Now there will be expectations that will necessarily be generated, therefore, expectations create a certain pressure that we will have to take on, but that does not scare me.”Paul Lapeira believes.
