Boucheron presents a line of fine jewelry inspired by Prince Philip’s uniform

The French jewelry store presented its brand new high jewelry collection called “The Power of Couture”. A line inspired by formal wear and influenced by Prince Philip’s uniform.

Between rock crystal and diamonds, the new line of 24 pieces of high jewelry from Boucheron is an ode to fashion and emblematic ornaments that adorn clothes and royal silhouettes. Bows, embroidery, shoulder pads… The discovery of a luxury collection that connects couture and the world of jewelry.

From the Boucheron archive to Prince Philip’s uniform

In 2024, the Boucheron woman wants to be powerful and royal. Claire Choisne, creative director of Boucheron, revisited the couture legacy of Frédéric Boucheron, who founded the iconic house in 1858. The jewelry artist, having spent his youth in the family fabric workshop, has emphasized this link between fashion and jewelry from the beginning of his brand, with pieces that they evoke lace, silk and even bows. Necklaces, brooches and bodice fronts that perfectly blend and merge with the clothes, enhancing them with finesse and without unnecessary decorations.

Designer Claire Choisne was also inspired by Prince Philip’s formal outfits. His ceremonial uniform, decorated with medals and royal jewels, was an important source of inspiration for the head of the Boucheron collections.

“The power of fashion”

From these precious archives, Claire Choisne began to imagine “The Power of Couture” two years ago, the time needed to think and design these pieces that are closer to a work of art than high-end jewelry. The result is a line of 24 unique pieces of high jewelry, all in flawless and shimmering white.

Among the emblematic pieces of this collection, cleverly constructed to adapt to clothing and transform according to the customer’s wishes, we find a box with 15 rock crystal buttons. Thanks to the old spiral clasp system, each button can be attached to the collar or sleeve. These pieces can also be attached to the hair for a very stylish and sophisticated look.

A rhinestone bow should be as flexible as grosgrain ribbon. Boucheron has designed several buckle systems to adapt to every specific garment. An adaptable and transformable piece to be worn around the neck or on the shoulder. In total, it took about 2,600 hours to create this exceptional knot.

Another important part of the collection: embroidery. The fern motif jewel is embellished with white gold and diamonds to create the illusion of a luscious leaf that hugs the curves of the body, clothing or head.

We also remember this magnificent diamond lace collar that took 1,900 hours of work. Collar in two parts to combine with the silhouette as desired.

The collection is completed by fifteen hand-engraved medals made of rock crystal. These pieces can be worn on their own over a jacket or all together as a statement necklace.

Aiguillette, which echoes the ornaments of military or civilian uniforms seen on the protagonists of royal families, stands out with its braided ropes and threads paved with diamonds.

The collection also includes shoulder straps that can be transformed into bracelets, and even a choker that imitates a stern braid, a decoration awarded to a military unit.

This line of high jewelery by Boucheron wonderfully oscillates between timelessness and modern elegance. A collection that should remain recorded in the annals of the house.
