Sequels to animated films from major American studios, including “Vice-Versa 2” and “Despicable Me 4,” will be presented at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, which has unveiled a selection of its 2024 edition.

The International Animated Film Festival in Annecy (from June 9 to 15) is a world reference in animated film. On Thursday, April 25, the festival unveiled its selection for its 2024 edition, including sequels to animated films from major American studios, including Reversed 2 AND Despicable me 4. Terry Gilliam, the author of cult films such as Brazil Or Las Vegas Paranoidand who created the animated sequences, notably in the Monty Python films.
Major American studios, including Pixar, have responded again and will present their next films. The first images of anticipated projects will also be unveiled, including the following DreamWorks (Wild robot) Or Moana 2 at Disney.
“Asterix and Obelix” and Michel Hazanavicius
Among other expected projects, the adaptation of the humorous adventures of the cat Garfield (Garfield: a hero in spite of himself) and on the French side, the first pictures of the animated series Asterix and Obelix, the battle of the leaders, signed by Alain Chabat. As for the competition for the Golden Crystal, after Linda wants chicken! who won in 2023, twelve films from France, Japan, Latvia, Australia and China are in the running.
The most valuable commodity Michel Hazanavicius is one of them, and it will open the Festival, a few weeks after the world premiere in competition in Cannes. Wes Anderson will be the guest of honor at the festival, which will also have a section dedicated to virtual reality (VR).
